Multiple descriptive models and the relationship of these models to each other define the structure of the organization. Descriptive models that are usually a normal part of business are: an organization model, a data model, an information model, various technology models (communication, hardware, software, and network), document, decision, and a financial model. Each model represents some basic part of an organization and a set of these models together are useful in analyzing mergers, consolidations, acquisitions, process simplification, process consolidation, impact analysis (described below) and so on. The defined set of these models together form what is commonly called Enterprise Architecture.
